News & Updates

October 29-November 4, 2007
DapheneDaphene and I headed down to Houston, TX to the Region 9 and the Southwest Dressage Championships. We had not made an attempt to qualify for USDF Championships, but did go ahead and pay qualifying fees for the SWDC and made the long drive down to Houston. Great facility and people!!! It was a wonderful experience and a whole lot of fun, and I was so proud of Daphene. She earned scores to 66% at 3rd level test three, and we were SWDC 3rd level AA Reserve Champions. A nice way to finish the year.

2007 FoalsWe attended the GOV inspection in Abilene, KS hosted by Jennifer Mosier, of Konza Prairie Dressage. As always, Jen held a super inspection with incredible volunteers and staff and made our job easy and our stay very pleasant. All three foals were super and are fully registered with the German Oldenburg Verband, and Denim was presented and accepted into the Main Mare Book. Some comments made by the judges were: "This is an example of the kind of offspring you produce when you cross an exceptional stallion to a really high quality mare" (Doc). "Huge gaits" (Facet). "Incredible uphill tendency" (Sunflower).

I could not have made the 4 hour trip to Abilene and presented all six horses without the help of my folks, Ron & Joyce Sergent, my dear friend, Traci Jackson, and my husband, Brian. Together we all got it done with a lot of hard work. Thank you all so very much!!

Breeding season has been a challenge again this year. Denim foaled and was bred back on the first shipment, but then a late spring freeze hit and threw off the mares' cycles. Delightful, who had been open the year before did not settle, and by the time Dazzy and Gia foaled, we were beginning to run out of time. Incidently, only Denim is confirmed in foal for 2008, and due late March. Hopefully we'll get an early start with the others and maybe the weather will cooperate.

Doc Holiday FSOur final foal of the year is here and is an incredible colt by De Laurentis out of SPS Gigola. He's a full brother to Diesel FS, and another example of this wonderful cross. Super modern and elegant with four socks and a blaze. He also displays exceptional gaits even at his young age.
May 13, 2007
Sunflower FSThis lovely filly is by Sinatra Song out of Dazzleleight. She's our first frozen semen baby and is a beautiful bay with four socks and an interesting star. Sunflower FS has super gaits already and is very people oriented.

After just two shows this year at Third Level, I'm proud to report that I have earned my USDF Bronze Medal with Daphene. We attained our first score at the Ft. Worth, TX show in April, and our second one at the ODS show in Shawnee, OK in early May. We now plan to continue with training and clinics this summer to improve the details of Third Level even more before resuming showing in the fall. I can also now focus more on breeding season.
March 25, 2007
Facet FSOur first foal of 2007 is here! Facet FS is by Furst Impression out of Denim FS, who is our first home bred broodmare. Facet is a beautiful light chestnut filly with two hind socks and a centered blaze. She's also quite sweet and very leggy. Her maiden Mom is very proud of her.

I'm finally getting around to updating the news with the year end awards results for Oklahoma Dressage Society. Daphene earned 2nd level Adult Amateur Champion in 2006, so we will move forward to third level this spring. Show season is just around the corner, as is foaling season, with our first foal out of Daphene's full sister, Denim, due early April. I've also added the two boys born in 2006 to the sales list, so be sure to take a look at them if you're in the market for a serious dressage prospect. Check back for updates, as baby pics will be added as soon as the foals arrive!

Another note of accomplishment for Daphene. She was awarded 4th overall at 2nd level Adult Amateur among all American Hanoverian Society registered horses with the USDF All Breeds Awards. She also attained her Elite Mare Candidate status from the AHS through performance. Now she just has to produce a registered foal to become an Elite Mare.
October, 2006
The 2006 show season is over, and Daphene had another very successful year. She ended up as the 5th alternate to the Young Horse Championships, 19th in the USDF Adult Amateur standings for 2nd level, and 19th in the USDF FEI Young Horse standings for 5 year olds. Her 2nd level test four scores were as high as 70.588% from FEI "I" judge Maryal Barnett. She's now enjoying a little time off, but we'll continue to work this winter and look forward to 3rd level in 2007.

Diesel FSFSF's colts were super at the GOV inspection held in Manhattan, KS. Both our boys earned premium status and are now fully registered and micro-chipped.
August, 2006
Our breeding season this year has been challenging, to say the least. After late foals born at the end of May, first part of June, we attempted re-breeding Delightfull and SPS Gigola. We've had some very hot weather here in Kansas this summer, with high temperatures near or above 100 for many weeks. Because of this, we were unable to get either of these girls in foal, and will be giving them the rest of 2006 off, with plans to start early next spring in 2007. On a positive note, we have confirmed pregnancies in two of our younger mares this year. Denim FS (Davignport/Delightfull), our home bred three year old, is expecting her first foal by Furst Impression (Furst Heinrich/Regazzoni/Weltmeyer), and Dazzleleight (Davignport/Fuerst Gotthard) is in foal to Sinatra (Sandro Hit/Pik Bube II/Akut). Next month we'll be taking both colts of 2006 to their GOV inspection.
June 10 , 2006
Diesel FSOur second and final foal for 2006 is here. SPS Gigola delivered a chestnut colt by De Laurentis. Super quality and already showing balanced, uphill gaits. Wide blaze and two hind stockings add to his appeal.
May 27, 2006
FoalOur first foal of 2006 has arrived! A lovely bay colt by De Laurentis, out of Delightfull. Very leggy and correct with a temperament to die for. Shown here at two days old. One more to go this year out of SPS Gigola.
May 20- 21, 2006
Our next stop was the Wild West Show in Tulsa, OK. Some highlights of the weekend were: 2 qualifying scores in the FEI 5 Year Old Test, with a score of 8.1 for trot in one of them; 5 scores of 8, with an 8 on gaits all in Second Level Test 2. Daphene was also 2nd level AA High Point for Sunday.
May 6 - 7, 2006
Daphene and I continue to gather experience in the FEI 5 Year Old Young Horse Tests. At the ODS Spring show in Shawnee, OK, we again received two qualifying scores, with the highlight being a score of 7.58. In her Second Level tests she received scores of 65.526% and 67.631%, with "8" for gaits, and was High Point AA Second Level Champion for both days.
April 8 - 9, 2006
We kicked off the 2006 competition year by traveling to Ft. Worth, TX for the FWDC Spring Fling Shows I & II. Wonderful weather and great hospitality marked another successful show for Daphene. She stepped up to collected work by earning qualifying scores in both of her FEI 5 Year Old Young Horse Tests, and was AA high point champion for show one at First Level Test 4 with a 69.722% (which included a 2 point deduction for her rider - me - going off course.) The second day, she scored 67.632% at Second Level Test 1.
January 28, 2006
The year end results for 2005 were announced at the Oklahoma Dressage Society's Annual General Meeting. Daphene was awarded Champion Training Level Adult Amateur Horse with an average score of 71.538%, and Champion First Level Adult Amateur Horse with an average score of 67.222%.
October 1 - 2, 2005
Daphene completed her 2005 show season in Claremore, OK with continued success at First Level. Her scores remained consistently above 66% at First Level Test 4, with the judges giving no scores beyond the 60's, at any level, during the whole show. She was also the highest scoring Hanoverian for the weekend. As we look to 2006 - possibly the FEI Five Year Old Test??
September 10 - 11, 2005
We traveled to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington to compete in the open show and attend the 2005 Young Horse Championships. What an incredible experience and beautiful park! Daphene was wonderful and left Training level behind her, showing in only First Level tests and earning scores to 67% at First Level Test 4. She received marks of 8's on her gaits in all of her tests, and was named High Point Adult Amateur Horse for her performance on Saturday.
August 4, 2005
After a long and very hot and humid day at the AHS inspection, we packed up and headed for Manhattan, KS to present Dazzy & Redford, and Dora & Ringe to the GOV. I'm very pleased that both young mares are now entered into the MMB of the GOV and both foals are fully registered and micro-chipped.
August 3, 2005
We presented two mares and two foals at the AHS inspection held in Kansas City. Both foals presented very well and are now branded Hanoverian. Daphene was inspected for admission to the MMB and was accepted, with highlights being scores of 8 on neck, hind leg, typiness and impulsion/elasticity. SPS Gigola was also presented for admission and was accepted and named over all site champion Non-Hanoverian Mare, with scores of 8 on head, neck, typiness, impulsion/elasticity and overall development.
June 13, 2005
All four of our 2005 foals have safely arrived here at FSF. Now that we're taking a short break from showing to prepare for inspections, check back for photos and sales updates.
June 11 - 12, 2005
Daphene successfully stepped up to First Level at the Wild West Dressage Shows I & II in Tulsa, OK with scores to 71 % and was High Point First Level Adult Amateur Champion for show I.
April 30 - May 1, 2005
Daphene debuted the 2005 show season with a very successful outing in Shawnee, OK. She competed at Training level and scored three out of four tests above 71% (the other being 67%), winning all her classes. She was also the High Point Adult Amateur Training Level Champion for both days.
November, 2004
2004 year end results are in for Oklahoma Dressage Society and I'm very proud to report that Daphene ended the year as Reserve Champion Adult Amateur Training Level Horse with an average score of 70%.
October 28 - 31, 2004
Daphene & I traveled to Dallas, TX to compete in the open show held during the USDF Region 9 Championships. Once again, I'm so very proud of her. She produced scores to 65% at Training Level, and 63% at First Level (her first time out at this level). The judging was very tough and fair from the likes of Axel Steiner, "O", Lois Yukins, "I", and Carol Lavell, "S". Daphene received 8's on her gaits and comments such as "Wonderful mare", and "Lovely horse". Now, during the winter months we'll work on her physical development and strength, and look forward to the 2005 show season.
October 2 - 3, 2004
Another successful outing for Daphene!! She continues to amaze us with her maturity and consistency as a three year old. She competed in all Training Level classes at the Green Country Fall Classic in Claremore, OK and all of her scores ranged from 66% to 70%. She is truly one of the most talented and willing horses I've ever had the privilege to work with.
September 18, 2004
Rock ChalkRoddickRock Chalk(Rosenthal/Dederick), pictured left, and Roddick (Rosenthal/Duntroon), pictured right, were presented for registration to the German Oldenburg Verband. I'm thrilled that both colts were awarded premium status by the German judges! A special thanks to Traci Jackson for her fabulous job of handling.
August 6 - 8, 2004
Dressage in the RockiesDaphene competed in the large show, Dressage in the Rockies and once again demonstrated her extremely mature attitude by handling a very electric atmosphere like a grown-up. Her scores at Training Level were as high as 67% and she placed either first or second in all her classes. She was also the Reserve Champion High Point - lower levels, for show I.
June 26 - 27, 2004
Daphene (Davignport/Dederick/Werther) debuted at her first Recognized Dressage Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, winning all her classes, and earning incredible scores of 70% and 71% at Training Level, and 73% and 75% at Intro Level. Even more amazing is that she just turned three years old at the end of May!! We're so very proud of this special filly.
